The launching of the Sub Relays of European Information came in 2004 when protocols between Carrefour-Bragança (Centro de Informação Europeia e Animação Rural de Bragança) and five municipalities of the Bragança district. This initiative aimed at setting up regional partnerships in order to decentralise the european information service and to provide the common citizen with a closer look of the european issues.

As the Carrefour-Bragança project came to a close and the Europe Direct Information Centre in Bragança started, the Sub Relays of European Information project went on with the signing up of nem protocols with other municipalities.

The present eight Sub Relays of European Information listed below,  present themselves  as  local spots  where the communities came closer to the European information:
